Norway 2025 – Warm Weather, Wild Stories & a Truly International Crew

If you think of Norway and picture chilly fjord mornings and misty mountain passes, think again—this year’s Norway tour flipped the script. Instead of the cool, crisp air we expected, we were greeted by a full-on summer heat wave, with blue skies and temps in the upper 20s. While the rest of mainland Europe was getting drenched, we found ourselves basking in the sun and peeling off layers at every stop. It wasn’t what we planned for, but it made the trip all the more memorable.

“I had the time of my life riding through such a magnificent and breathtaking Norwegian landscape! I met some truly awesome riders who are considered friends and will not be forgotten. With Oliver’s expert guidance and knowledge of the surroundings, all I had to do was enjoy the ride—absolutely the best experience from start to finish. Awesome job, Oliver!”

A Group That Clicked Instantly

From the very first meet-up, it was clear this was going to be a special group. Everyone brought their own story, but what really made it unique was the blend of backgrounds—every rider had a foot in both North America and Germany. Rainer left Germany over 30 years ago to build a life and business in Canada, and his stories of adapting to a new world kept us entertained at every stop. Oliver was born in Canada to German parents, bringing a perfect mix of both cultures to the table. And then there was Mike, who first came to Germany with the US military, met the love of his life, and after years back in the States, returned to Germany for good.

The result? A constant, easy switch between English and German, with plenty of laughs and a sense of camaraderie that made every day on the road feel like riding with old friends.

Norway at Its Best—Just a Little Hotter

We came for the cool, dramatic landscapes of Norway, and the scenery did not disappoint. Our journey started in Hamburg, with a ride up through Denmark and an overnight ferry that dropped us right into the heart of fjord country. From the moment we landed in Stavanger, the adventure was on.

We hugged the coast to Bergen, taking in the city’s colorful waterfront and historic Bryggen district. From there, we looped around the stunning Hardangerfjord, with its winding roads, steep mountains, and waterfalls, before rolling into the peaceful town of Ulvik. The next day, we were treated to the jaw-dropping Gaularfjellet viewpoint, the majestic Sognefjord, and the thunder of Skjervsfossen waterfall.

The ride continued along tranquil fjords like Nordalsfjord and Innvikfjord, with the option for a detour to the iconic Atlantic Ocean Road—a true bucket-list stretch for any rider. Molde gave us a chance to rest or explore even more, with options like the Aursjøvegen Scenic Road or another run along the Atlantic coast.

No Norway tour is complete without the legendary Trollstigen road, and we tackled its hairpins before descending to the world-famous Geirangerfjord and climbing up to the panoramic Dalsnibba viewpoint. The historic Gamle Strynefjellsveg, the beautiful Lom Stave Church, and the scenic Tindevegen road were all on the menu as we made our way to Sogndal.

We followed the Aurlandsfjord, stopped at the Stegastein viewpoint for those classic fjord photos, and crossed the vast Hardangervidda plateau before visiting the mighty Vøringsfossen waterfall. The route along Sørfjorden, past the dramatic Låtefossen and Svandalsfossen waterfalls, was pure riding bliss.

Our final day in Norway was a showstopper: a ferry ride along the Lysefjord with views of the iconic Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) from the water, a run up the famous Lysevegen road, and a last stretch of scenic coastal riding before the overnight ferry back to Denmark.

The Group Vibe

What really set this tour apart was the group dynamic. With everyone sharing a German connection—whether by birth, family, or life’s winding path—there was always a story to tell and a joke to share. The mix of languages kept things lively, and the shared love of riding made every pass, ferry crossing, and coffee stop a highlight.

Looking Back—and Ahead

Norway 2025 will go down as the year we came for the cold and got a summer to remember. It was a tour full of unexpected weather, great roads, and even better company. If you’re thinking about joining next year, just know: the only thing you can count on is that Norway will surprise you—and the right group will make it unforgettable.

Ready for the next adventure? Norway’s waiting, no matter what the weather brings.
