This year’s Central Alps Discovery was the first tour to sell out—and for good reason. Riders from the USA, Canada, Denmark, and Israel came together in July for a true Alpine adventure, and the mountains delivered everything from blazing summer heat to icy winds and even snow on the high Swiss passes. If you wanted a taste of every mood the Alps can throw at you, this was the week to be on two wheels.
“Oliver is No.1! I have done motorcycle tours in Europe with other operators, but overall this experience was my favourite. The ‘vibe’ you get from MotoVibes is exactly as you perceive from Oliver’s videos. He is very friendly, personable, knows the best routes, and is a fabulous rider. The partnership between MotoVibes and Stephan with the rentals is flawless. The trip provided outstanding riding, jaw dropping scenery, and new friendships forged with like-minded riders from around the world. If you are solo, don’t worry about it. As long as you speak the language of most of the group, everything else falls away and Oliver sets the tone for a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.”

“The Central Alps Tour was nothing less than amazing! Oliver has crafted a fantastic selection of the best roads in the Alps. This is motorcycle riding paradise!”

A Group That Clicked
From the first night’s welcome dinner in Munich, you could feel the energy. Riders from four different countries, all with their own stories and riding backgrounds, but everyone sharing the same excitement for what lay ahead. By the end of day one, the group rhythm was set—smooth on the road, plenty of laughs at the stops, and a real sense of camaraderie that only comes from sharing big days in the mountains.
The Route – Passes, Peaks, and Pure Riding
This tour is all about the passes—over 30 of the Top 50 in the Alps, strung together in a route that never lets up. We started strong, heading out of Munich and straight into the Austrian Alps, warming up on Hahntennjoch and Piller Höhe before settling in for the night. Day two brought the legendary Stelvio Pass, followed by a parade of classics: Forcola di Livigno, Bernina, Albula, and Julier, each one a highlight in its own right.
The days that followed were a blur of switchbacks and summit signs: Splügen, San Bernardino, the historic Tremola, Furka, Nufenen, Susten, Klausen, Flüela, Ofen, Umbrail, and the mighty Gavia. Every day brought a new set of challenges and a new set of views—sometimes under a blazing sun, sometimes with the temperature dropping so fast you could see your breath.
Weather – Four Seasons in Nine Days
If you ever wanted proof that the Alps have their own rules, this tour was it. We rode through heat that had us peeling off layers at every stop, only to climb into icy winds and even snow as we crossed the high Swiss passes. One minute you’re sweating in the valley, the next you’re dodging snowdrifts on the Fluela Pass. It made for some wild photos and even better stories at dinner.

The Dolomites and Beyond
After the Swiss drama, we dropped into Italy for a run through the Dolomites—Rolle, Giau, Falzarego, Valparola, Gardena, Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo—each pass a classic, each view a postcard. The roads were in top shape, the switchbacks endless, and the group energy never dipped, even as the days stacked up.
The Grand Finale
The last day was a fitting send-off: Jaufen Pass, Timmelsjoch, and Kühtai Sattel, then a final blast back to Munich. Tired but grinning, we dropped off the bikes and swapped contact info, already talking about the next adventure.

What Made It Special
It wasn’t just the roads (though they were incredible) or the scenery (which never disappoints). It was the group—riders from all over the world, facing down wild weather and big miles together, and coming out the other side with new friends and a head full of Alpine memories.
Thinking About Next Year?
If you want a tour that’s as much about the people as the passes, and you’re ready for whatever the Alps throw your way, keep an eye on the calendar. Central Alps Discovery is the real deal—no two years are ever the same, but the adventure is always guaranteed.
