Day 1: Munich

Welcome to Munich! Arrive at your own pace, settle in, and get ready for the adventure ahead. Pick up your rental motorcycle when it suits you, and if you wish, connect with other MotoVibes travelers in the area or enjoy the city on your own terms.

Day 2 (475 km): Munich to Gotthard

Begin your journey with a long stretch on the Autobahn, making quick progress through Germany and into Switzerland. South of Chur, leave the highways behind for twisty, scenic roads leading to the day’s highlight: the San Bernardino Pass, renowned for its sweeping curves and Alpine vistas.

 

Day 3 (260 km): Gotthard to Megeve

Ride the historic Tremola road, famous for its cobbled switchbacks and breathtaking views. Ascend the Furka Pass for more epic mountain scenery, then continue west past Mont Blanc, Europe’s tallest peak. The day ends in the charming Alpine town of Megeve.

 

Day 4 (262 km): Megeve to Briançon

Experience a classic day on the Route des Grandes Alpes, crossing legendary passes like the Cormet de Roselend, Col de la Madeleine, Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, and Col du Galibier. Enjoy stunning panoramas and a mix of thrilling ascents and descents through some of France’s most iconic roads.

Day 5 (280 km): Briançon to Valberg

Continue your adventure with the breathtaking Col de l’Izoard, known for its unique rock formations and lunar-like landscapes. Cross Col de Vars and Col de la Bonette—one of Europe’s highest paved roads—before ending the day with a scenic ride through the red rock walls of Gorge du Cians.

 

Day 6 (270 km): Valberg to Castellane

Ride into the striking red-hued landscapes of Gorges de Daluis, then wind along cliff-hugging roads around the famous Verdon Canyon, often called the "Grand Canyon of Europe." Enjoy countless curves and fantastic views before arriving in Castellane.

 

Day 7 (212 km): Castellane to Pra-Loup

Start the day with the balcony road Clue de Saint-Auban, riding along cliffside routes with sweeping views. Rejoin the Route des Grandes Alpes and cross the scenic Col de Cayolle. This shorter day allows for a relaxed afternoon in Pra-Loup to rest and soak in the Alpine surroundings.

Day 8 (276 km): Pra-Loup to La Rosière

Begin with the south side of Col de Vars, a beautiful and twisty ascent, followed by the impressive Col du Mont Cenis. End the day with the majestic Col de l’Iseran—the highest paved pass in the Alps—before reaching the mountain town of La Rosière.

 

Day 9 (260 km): La Rosière to Goms

Tackle two iconic passes named for Saint Bernard: the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard and the higher Col du Grand Saint-Bernard. For those seeking an extra adventure, the optional Nufenen Pass offers one last thrilling climb before arriving in Goms.

 

Day 10 (480 km): Goms to Munich

Your final ride takes you over Grimsel Pass and Susten Pass, with an optional ascent of the scenic Klausenpass for those wanting an extra mountain challenge. Return to Munich for a late afternoon bike drop-off, wrapping up your unforgettable self-guided journey through the Alps.

These rental items are provided by Adventure Rental in Hamburg /Munich and are subject to availability. Prices are approximate and may vary – they include the mileages for the tour, full coverage insurance (with deductible), full pannier & top case set and GPS navigation system. Payment for rental items will be due after the tour. The following options are examples – ask for other options:
