“My brother and I recently returned home after completing the 12 day Balkans guided motorcycle tour with Oliver of MotoVibes Travel. What an absolutely amazing adventure!! Oliver was great to deal with from the beginning. Great communication, well organized and incredibly enthusiastic!! The route Oliver took us on couldn’t have been any better. Scenic, beautiful roads that were incredibly fun to ride!! There were so many beautiful places that I had no idea existed. This experience far exceeded anything I imagined we would be doing and it was ALL thanks to Oliver who I now consider a friend!! Don’t hesitate to book with MotoVibes. It was truly one of best experiences I’ve ever had and I’m already looking forward to going on a tour to Norway with MotoVibes next year!!!”

★★★★★ Bryan Marks, USA

“As a European going on a Europe ride, I was a little worried that it wouldn’t live up to expectations I’ve developed travelling to far flung destinations. How wrong could I be. Oliver from MotoVibes has created a superb trip that we all thoroughly enjoyed. The choice of roads, hotels and destinations were top class, and I’ve never experienced such great roads for riding fast and fun. The Spirit of the Balkans is a trip I would recommend to anyone looking for both a riding experience and seeing parts of Europe steeped in history. Roll on the next one with Oliver and MotoVibes.”

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Bavaria

Arrive in Munich at your own pace and settle into your hotel. Pick up your motorcycle, review your route materials, and enjoy a relaxed evening before your self-guided Balkan adventure begins.

Day 2: Alpine Foothills & Scenic Mountain Roads

Leaving Munich, you travel south toward the Austrian border on efficient motorway sections before the route turns onto quieter mountain roads. A series of smaller passes and a sweeping highland route provide a memorable introduction to the journey ahead.

Day 3: Julian Alps & Adriatic Horizons

Cross into Slovenia and climb through dramatic Alpine terrain on winding roads beneath rugged limestone peaks. The route then descends through quiet valleys and rolling countryside toward the sparkling Adriatic coast.

Day 4: The Legendary Coastal Highway

Follow a spectacular section of the Adriatic coastline, where flowing curves trace the shoreline between dramatic hillsides and deep blue water. A faster connecting section leads farther south before you finish the day in a beautiful coastal setting.

Day 5: Coastal Ridges & Mountain Panoramas

Continue along the coast on one of the region’s most rewarding riding roads, with continuous curves and wide sea views. An optional side route climbs high above the shoreline, rewarding you with remarkable panoramas across the mountains and islands.

Day 6: Fortresses, Stone Alleys & Coastal Splendor

Take a rest day to explore a celebrated historic walled city at your own pace. Wander narrow stone streets, discover ancient fortifications, sample the local food scene, or simply relax beside the clear blue Adriatic.

Day 7: Bay Roads & Mountain Serpentines

Follow the coastline south before entering a spectacular bay framed by steep mountains. A dramatic serpentine climb carries you high above the water, before the route continues through a national park and alongside a vast lakeside landscape.

Day 8: Wild Highlands & Canyon Views

Today brings quiet, curving roads through Montenegro’s remote highland scenery. Ride through a dramatic national park, cross a spectacular canyon bridge, and finish the day surrounded by rugged peaks and open mountain landscapes.

Day 9: Deep Canyons & Historic Bridge City

Cross a dramatic mountain pass before descending through a spectacular river canyon on a road carved into the valley. Continue across the border into Bosnia and enjoy time to explore a captivating old town shaped by centuries of history.

Day 10: Hidden Springs & Inland Backroads

Return to Croatia and follow peaceful inland roads through rolling countryside and secluded valleys. Pause at a striking natural spring before continuing west toward your evening stop near a celebrated national park.

Day 11: Forgotten Airfields & Adriatic Sunsets

Travel north on quiet backroads through the rugged interior, with the chance to visit the remains of a remarkable former aviation site. By late afternoon, you return to the coast, where the last light over the Adriatic provides a fitting end to the day.

Day 12: Alpine Border Crossings & Northern Valleys

Turn north toward the Alps, crossing borders through scenic mountain country and tackling a dramatic high-altitude route if conditions and timing allow. The day ends in a peaceful Austrian valley surrounded by forested slopes and mountain views.

Day 13: Austria’s Highest Peak & Homeward Bound

Your final riding day delivers a spectacular Alpine finale on a famous high mountain road, including a panoramic viewpoint high above the valleys. Continue north through Bavaria to Munich, return your motorcycle in the late afternoon, and celebrate the end of your self-guided journey.
