About the Tour

Best of Portugal by Motorcycle: Coast, Wine Country, and Mountain Twisties

Kick off your season with a full loop through Portugalcoastal sweepers, river‑valley ribbons, and mountain twisties that keep you smiling all day. Starting and finishing in Málaga, this 13‑day trip with 11 riding days and 1 rest day links the Algarve’s rugged headlands, the Sintra hills and Cabo da Roca, Nazaré’s Atlantic cliffs, the Douro Valley’s legendary N222, and the high country of Serra da Estrela. Expect big scenery, authentic food, and roads you’ll rave about long after the last corner. We stay in handpicked 3–4‑star hotels with character.

We warm up via the A‑397 to Ronda and slide into Portugal along quiet backroads. The Algarve delivers Serra da Monchique’s flowing bends and sunset vibes at Sagres. Riding north, the Alentejo & Vicentina coast serves up wind‑carved beaches and the Serra de Arrábida before we sweep over the Tagus into Lisbon. A morning loop through the Sintra hills sets us up for Cabo da Roca—mainland Europe’s westernmost point—then it’s lighthouse views at Cabo Carvoeiro and a golden‑hour finish in Nazaré.

From the Atlantic we cut inland to the Serra da Lousã backroads and on to Porto for a rest day along the Douro. Then comes the headline act: the Douro Valley—terraced vineyards, river bends, and non‑stop grin factor. We climb into Serra da Estrela with the option to tag Torre, Portugal’s highest paved point, before carving south toward the historic N2 corridor and the Tagus.

The finale runs through cork‑oak country in the Alentejo—quick photo laps possible around Évora’s Roman Temple—then across the border into the gentle mountains of the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche. A last serving of sweepers carries us back to Málaga for bikes‑in and a proper farewell dinner.

Bring your own motorcycle or opt for a premium BMW rental with panniers, top case, and full insurance. Routes are fully scouted, daily briefings keep the day smooth, and you’ll have support from start to finish. This tour is for riders who live for great asphalt, relaxed evenings, and that easy group rhythm where every stop turns into a good story.

Join us for the ultimate Portugal loop—where every day brings a new coastline, a new pass, and another reason to keep riding.

“I loved the enthusiasm and passion Oliver shows in the routes and places he chose to take us. He found and included treasure after treasure of twisty roads that tested my skills and made me a better rider. The rest of the guys in my group were fantastic and helpful. Great job, Oliver! I had a fantastic time. I’d do it all over again.”
