This is the Dolomites tour done right. Instead of packing and unpacking every single day, this trip is built around a base camp concept that gives you the freedom to just ride. Five nights in the same hotel in the heart of the Val di Fassa, followed by two nights near Lake Garda—with luggage-free riding on both sections. Show up, gear up, and go.

The Dolomites need no introduction. Sweeping mountain passes, dramatic rock faces, smooth tarmac, and a road network that was basically built for motorcycles. Whether it is the extended Sella Ronda, a blast over Passo di Giau, or a detour to the emerald shores of Lago di Carezza—every day out of base camp delivers something worth talking about.

Each day features approximately 5 hours of net riding time across daily distances of 210 to 260 kilometers from the Dolomites base—enough to cover serious ground without turning it into an endurance event. The pace is designed for riders who want to push it on the passes but still have time to stop for a coffee, grab a photo, and enjoy the surroundings. And if one day you simply want to stay put? Every loop day can be taken as a rest day—no pressure, no schedule.

From the Dolomites you will head south to Lake Garda, adding two more nights and another luggage-free day to explore the west coast cliffs, the legendary Strada della Fora, and a full circumnavigation of the lake via the Monte Baldo area.

This tour is aimed at intermediate riders who are comfortable on mountain roads and ready for full days of technical riding—hairpin turns, narrow passes, and constantly changing terrain. Premium rental motorcycles and full gear packages are available for those flying in, so all you need to do is show up ready to ride.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Bavaria

Arrive in Munich at your own pace and settle into your hotel. Pick up your rental motorcycle if required, meet fellow riders joining the tour, and take the evening to relax before the Dolomites adventure begins.

Day 2: Gateway to the Dolomites & High Passes

Leaving Munich, you make your way south through Austria, combining efficient motorway sections with quiet mountain roads. A dramatic high pass and a series of sweeping Dolomite crossings lead you to your alpine base hotel.

Day 3: Sweeping Ridges & Alpine Vineyards

A full day of pure mountain riding awaits as you explore several celebrated passes north of the valley. Enjoy tight hairpins, wide panoramic curves, and changing scenery that drops through sunny vineyards before returning to your base.

Day 4: Limestone Giants & Classic Switchbacks

Today you ride deep into the central Dolomites, linking a selection of legendary passes beneath dramatic cliff faces and towering rock formations. Sharp elevation changes, perfectly paved mountain roads, and classic switchbacks make for an unforgettable loop.

Day 5: Emerald Lakes & Glacier Panoramas

The route begins near a striking alpine lake before continuing across a series of rugged mountain saddles. You weave through spectacular rocky landscapes and ride beneath towering peaks, completing another memorable Dolomites loop back to your base hotel.

Day 6: The Legendary Circuit & Rest Day Option

Choose a relaxed rest day or set out on an extended loop through some of the Dolomites’ most famous mountain scenery. The optional route circles dramatic limestone massifs, linking continuous high passes with unforgettable curves and panoramic viewpoints.

Day 7: Historic Summits & Descent to Lake Country

You leave your Dolomites base and travel south through the Trentino region, crossing scenic forested passes and a historic mountain summit with wide-ranging views. The route descends into warmer valleys near one of northern Italy’s most beautiful lakes.

Day 8: Dramatic Gorges & Lakeside Curves

A memorable loop around the lake combines dramatic cliffside roads, winding coastal sections, and scenic mountain ridges high above the water. This varied day showcases spectacular engineering, Mediterranean atmosphere, and some wonderfully flowing riding.

Day 9: High Mountain Finale & Homeward Bound

Your final riding day heads north through the Alps, combining a major high-altitude pass with scenic Austrian valleys and efficient roads back toward Munich. Return your motorcycle in the late afternoon and celebrate the end of your self-guided adventure.

Day 10: Farewell Munich

Individual departure from Munich, taking home unforgettable memories of jagged Dolomite peaks, legendary mountain passes, and spectacular lakeside roads.

You will spend 5 nights in the same hotel in the heart of the Val di Fassa—right in the middle of the Dolomites—riding out each morning with nothing but your riding gear. No luggage, no transfers, just pure riding. A further 2 nights near Lake Garda follow the same approach, with one more luggage-free day to explore the Trentino backroads at your own pace.

Motorcycle rentals and rental gear items are provided by Adventure Rental in Hamburg /Munich and are subject to availability and not included in the tour price. Prices are approximate and may vary – they include the regular mileages for the tour, full coverage insurance (with deductible), full pannier & top case set and GPS navigation system. Payment for rental items will be due at the start of the tour.
