About the Tour

A Tour Built Around Freedom – Base Camp Dolomites & Lake Garda

This is the Dolomites tour done right. Instead of packing and unpacking every single day, we have built this trip around a base camp concept that gives you the freedom to just ride. Five nights in the same hotel in the heart of the Val di Fassa, followed by two nights near Lake Garda—with luggage-free riding on both sections. Show up, gear up, and go.

The Dolomites need no introduction. Sweeping mountain passes, dramatic rock faces, smooth tarmac, and a road network that was basically built for motorcycles. Whether it is the extended Sella Ronda, a blast over Passo di Giau, or a detour to the emerald shores of Lago di Carezza—every day out of base camp delivers something worth talking about.

Each day features approximately 5 hours of net riding time across daily distances of 210 to 260 kilometers from the Dolomites base—enough to cover serious ground without turning it into an endurance event. The pace is designed for riders who want to push it on the passes but still have time to stop for a coffee, grab a photo, and enjoy the surroundings. And if one day you simply want to stay put? Every loop day can be taken as a rest day—no pressure, no schedule.

From the Dolomites we head south to Lake Garda, adding two more nights and another luggage-free day to explore the west coast cliffs, the legendary Strada della Fora, and a full circumnavigation of the lake via the Monte Baldo area.

This tour is aimed at intermediate riders who are comfortable on mountain roads and ready for full days of technical riding—hairpin turns, narrow passes, and constantly changing terrain. Premium rental motorcycles and full gear packages are available for those flying in, so all you need to do is show up ready to ride.

Five nights in the Dolomites. Two nights at Lake Garda. Zero days of boring roads.

Detailed Tour Information

Day 1: Arrival in Munich

Welcome! Pick up your rental motorcycle and get settled in. For those arriving a day early, we kick off with a relaxed Meet & Greet in the evening—the perfect way to meet your fellow riders before the adventure begins.

Day 2: Munich to Soraga – Into the Dolomites (390 km)

We cover the motorway stretch efficiently before crossing into Austria and switching to smaller, more rewarding roads. Our first Top 50 pass of the tour sets the tone before we drop into the Dolomites via Passo di Gardena and Sella Pass, arriving at our base hotel in the heart of the Val di Fassa—home for the next five nights.

Day 3: Into the South Tyrol (266 km)

Bags stay at the hotel as we ride light into the mountains. Today takes us north into the South Tyrol for two classic passes—Jaufenpass and Penser Joch—that most riders in the Dolomites never get around to. Rewarding, uncrowded, and full of character. We finish with a sweeping descent back to base via Passo della Mendola.

Day 4: Deep Dolomites East (210 km)

Another luggage-free day and another set of world-class roads. We head east into some of the most dramatic scenery the Dolomites have to offer—remote passes, towering rock walls, and the kind of hairpins that make you want to turn around and do it all again. Passo di Giau and Pordoi Pass are the standout moments of the day.

Day 5: Emerald Lakes & Iconic Passes (221 km)

We start the day at the stunning Lago di Carezza, one of the most photographed spots in the entire Alps, before heading into a full loop of lesser-known passes in the eastern Dolomites. The afternoon brings some of the tour's most iconic roads—Passo di Valparola, Passo di Falzarego, and Passo di Fedaia beneath the Marmolada glacier.

Day 6: Rest Day or Extended Sella Ronda (160 km)

Today is your call: take a well-earned rest day in the Val di Fassa, or join us for the extended Sella Ronda—the legendary circuit that links the Dolomites' four most iconic passes. Pordoi, Gardena, Sella, Falzarego, and Giau all feature on the menu. One of those days you will talk about for years.

Day 7: Soraga to Rovereto – South into Trentino (232 km)

We leave the Dolomites behind and head south through the Trentino region via the scenic Passo di Rolle. A highlight of the day is a stop at the Monte Grappa military memorial—a historically significant ridge road with sweeping views over the Veneto plains. We finish in the lively town of Rovereto, our base for the next two nights, right on the doorstep of Lake Garda.

Day 8: Rovereto Loop – Full Lake Garda Circumnavigation (215 km)

Another luggage-free day as we head out to complete a full loop of Lake Garda. We start with the legendary Strada della Fora—also known as the James Bond Road—before riding the dramatic west coast cliffs, crossing to the east side, and finishing in the Monte Baldo area. By the end of the day, you will have experienced Lake Garda from every angle.

Day 9: Rovereto to Munich – The Long Road Home (395 km)

Our final riding day heads north with one more crossing of Penser Joch before we switch to motorway mode for the run back to Munich. Bike drop-off in the late afternoon marks the end of a seriously memorable tour.

Day 10: Departure from Munich

Individual departures from Munich. Safe travels—and we hope to see you on the next one!

Tour Profile / Skill Level:

This tour is designed for riders who thrive on the excitement of mountain roads and full days of riding, balanced with the freedom to explore at their own pace. Each day's route features approximately 5 hours of net riding time, leaving plenty of room for photo stops along stunning Alpine landscapes and some of the most iconic passes in the Dolomites.

Covering daily distances of 210 to 260 kilometers on location, the tour is built around a base camp concept that takes the stress out of packing and unpacking every day. You will spend 5 nights in the same hotel in the heart of the Val di Fassa—right in the middle of the Dolomites—riding out each morning with nothing but your riding gear. No luggage, no transfers, just pure riding. A further 2 nights near Lake Garda follow the same approach, with one more luggage-free day to explore the Trentino backroads at your own pace.

Ideal for intermediate riders, this journey offers a great variety of terrain—hairpin turns, sweeping curves, and narrow mountain roads—with the pace thoughtfully planned to let you fully appreciate each region's unique character. After each day's ride, you will have time to unwind, enjoy the local food and wine, and connect with fellow riders—making the experience as rewarding off the bike as it is on it.

Group Riding

One of the most rewarding aspects of this tour is the shared experience of riding with like-minded enthusiasts. There’s something special about exploring the open road together, conquering mountain passes side by side, and sharing the day’s highlights over dinner each evening.

Many riders find that the friendships formed on tours like these last well beyond the final day, creating a sense of camaraderie that adds a whole new dimension to the journey. Riding in a group does require a bit of give and take, as everyone’s safety and enjoyment depend on mutual respect and a spirit of cooperation. By embracing the group dynamic, you’ll not only enhance your own experience but also contribute to an unforgettable adventure for everyone involved.
